Description

I always thought that this girl isn't really painting the walls of the room, and all that psychedelic drawings are only in her imagination... At last, she hasn't got a paint can...

AurumArt-Seed admin here, thanks for participating in our critique day event! :D

Okay, I'll be giving my thoughts on the composition, so as always with critique, keep in mind that these are only my opinions, and I too still need to learn a lot!

Wow, this is a crazy piece. It's one of those that when I first looked at it, I had no idea what was going on. Looking at it now, I'm only just realizing that there are certain little details scattered about. Whether or not this was something you intended is something I can't say. It's certainly interesting though.

I really only have two complaints with how this is laid out. One is the fact that you used grid paper, the squareness of which doesn't seem to fit the totally trippy drawing itself. At least you didn't use lined paper though, haha.

My other issue is the odd whiteness at the lower half of the drawing. I can see why it's there and how it fits into the theme of the girl going wild with her imagination on the walls of her room, so naturally the attention needs to be towards the walls and not the floor, but in those first crucial seconds that I looked at this piece and took my initial thoughts on it, I was drawn predominately to the odd white space and wondered why it was there. That's the biggest reason why it took me a while to realize what was actually going on.

This is a delightful concept. The girls designs all over her walls are especially cool to look like, and really beautiful.

Overall, if you wanted to revisit this later on, the biggest thing I think you should change is that odd whiteness at the bottom. Using paper without grid lines is obligatory, haha.
